Buna treaba. Sunt curios ce-or sa spuna carcotasii care, pe vremea cand as fi vrut montarea unei instalatii GPL pe O2, spuneau ca:"asta-i masina sa-ti bati joc de ea, sa-i pui gaz?" Si mai rau, (fara nicio aluzie ) cum or sa promoveze unii dealeri aceasta varianta? In 2005 cand am luat O2 si am intrebat de varianta cu GPL, am primit niste priviri  ...si replica:" domnule, asta-i masina...".  ) 
Curios, de ce pun doar pe 1,6mpi?! Doar ca sa mai vanda acest motor?!

Škoda Auto is now marketing its most popular model in a version powered by LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas). LPG is an environmentally-friendly and economic alternative to classic petrol and diesel engines. The solution links the benefits of a flexible petrol engine and an LPG drive, which significantly reduces fuel costs and also releases less CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.

The new version of the Octavia LPG and the Octavia Combi LPG is based on a 1.6 MPI/75 kW petrol engine that meets the EU4 standard and burns both unleaded petrol and LPG. The car is available with a five-speed manual gearbox. The engine provides a power output of 75 kW (102 hp) when burning petrol and 72 kW (98 hp) when using LPG. Petrol consumption is 7.1 litres/100 km and LPG consumption is 9.2 litres/100 kilometres. CO2 emissions are at a low level; 149 g/km for LPG and 169 g/km for petrol. The basic price of the Octavia 1.6 MPI/75 kW LPG model in the version with the five-speed manual gearbox is CZK 419,900 in the Classic version, whereas the Combi version is available for CZK 459,900. The LPG tank, which has a volume of 44 litres, is in the hole for the spare wheel and is equipped with a electromagnetic safety valve. The capacity of the luggage space remains unlimited and is 560 litres for the liftback and 580 litres for the combi.

The tanks with which the cars are fitted enable both automatic and manual switching between both regimes. The engine’s response in both modes is identical and the difference in performance is practically imperceptible; the combination of petrol and LPG is a guarantee and driving comfort, low operating costs and an ability to travel longer distances. Škoda Auto is currently the only producer on the Czech market that offers an original LPG system in mass production.
