- Škoda to provide 50 vehicles for the 10th Winter Olympic Festival in Liberec

The Winter Olympic Festival in Liberec is the biggest event for young athletes aged between 14 and 18, and Škoda Auto will be in charge of safe and comfortable on-site mobility (organizers, guests and journalists).
Škoda is going to support the tenth year of the festival (12 -19 February, 2011) by providing a fleet of 50 vehicles, thus becoming the biggest commercial partner of this major event.
The partnership with the festival referred to as “mini-Olympics for the stars of tomorrow” is a good fit for the brand in terms of its sponsorship strategy.
Škoda has been a long-standing partner of two highly attractive sports, ice-hockey and cycling. As part of the Youth Olympic Festival, the brand will present a strong fleet (mainly Octavia Combi 4x4, but also Yeti, Superb Combi and Octavia Scout) and will also take active part in the 4x4 Škoda Park, an attractive winter road-show that offers an entertainment event for the whole family, as well as a possibility to get familiar with the brand's four-wheel drive portfolio.
The Winter Festival in Liberec is going to see about 1,300 young athletes from 44 national sport associations to whom these games are as important as the Olympic Games are to adults. Since its establishment in the nineteen-nineties, the Winter Festival has become one of the key events in the Olympic calendar, also thanks to strong support from Jacques Rogge, the current International Olympic Committee President. The games are regularly attended by big names of sport, economy and society, including Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II who has visited the event in the past to greet the young athletes.
