Mladá Boleslav, 1st October 2010 – Škoda is launching a redesigned version of the Octavia Tour, one of the most popular models in its recent history. Compared with the first-generation vehicle, the latest model features a refreshed design, a brand new interior and an upgraded portfolio of trim packages and engines. Furthermore, the new car meets the strict EU5 emission standard. Like its predecessor, the Octavia Tour will be available in both sedan and estate body styles. Sold under the “Tour” mark since 2004, the Octavia I is a bargain in its segment. Sales of the Octavia I have totalled over 1.4 million vehicles.
The winning combination of a generous basic-level trim package, the high quality typical for all Škoda vehicles and an affordable price helped the first-generation Octavia Tour notch up impressive sales. The second-generation Octavia Tour is, again, an excellent value-for-money proposition.
The new car is available in both sedan and estate body styles. The engine portfolio comprises three units, each offering a five-speed manual transmission. Engine availability depends on the market: vehicles sold in EU countries will be fitted with the 59 kW 1.4 and 75 kW 1.6 litre petrol engines, while customers outside the EU can choose between the 75 kW 1.6 litre petrol engine and a 2.0 TDI common-rail diesel unit (81 kW).
The second-generation Octavia Tour offers an extensive basic-level trim, including driver and passenger airbags, ABS, power steering, central locking, electrically controlled wing mirrors, a four-spoke steering wheel and a height-adjustable driver's seat.
